Closed Joint-Stock Company TransTeleCom (TTK) was founded in 1997. Its main shareholder is “Russian railways“. TTK operates and services the largest fiber network in Russia, which is more than 55 000 km long and has the bandwidth capability of 50 GBit/s. The network is laid along the country’s railways, has more than 1000 access nodes in all regions of Russia and connects Europe and Asia. Seventeen regional enterprises established in the largest cities of Russia, provide TTK services all over the country. Being one of the leading telecommunication operators, the company ensures 45% of the rent of National Private Lines, occupies 46% in the segment of trunk Internet access and 34% in IP VPN market. Consolidated income of TTK group companies in 2007 made 24,1 billion rubles, and the profit amounted to 2.6 billion rubles, which exceeds the same index of 2006 by 18%. In September 2007, TTK started providing the services of long-distance and international telecommunication. At present, TTK has implemented large-scale telecommunication projects for state companies and large commercial corporations. Ministry of Emergency Management, Ministry of Internal Affairs, regional customs authorities, Russian Academy of Sciences, Roskosmos, Experimental Design Bureau Sukhoi, KnAAPO, Sberbank, Alpha-Bank, Bank Russian Standard, Mezhbiznesbank, Ingosstrakh, UralSib, Norilsky Nickel, SUAL, PG MAIR, EurazRuda, Eurokhim, Coca-Cola, Vympelcom, Megafon, MTS, and VGTRK are among the TTK’s customers. TTK actively works on the international market. EurasiaHighway transcontinental route, organized by TTK, is the optimum telecommunication route between European and Asian countries.
